A tribute to the grit, determination, and sacrifice that helped shape the earliest chapters of Wisconsin's history.
Before Wisconsin became known for its dairy farms, forests, and communities, thousands of lead miners worked beneath the rolling hills of the southwest region of the state. These miners became known as "badgers" because many lived in dugouts carved into the earth near their mining operations, giving rise to the nickname that would eventually define Wisconsin itself—the Badger State.
Forged from hand-hammered iron, aged hardwood, and reinforced with gold kintsugi detailing, The Miner's Resolve combines a Gothic miner's pickaxe with symbols of perseverance and resilience. Surrounded by shattered lead ore, sparks, and the raw energy of industry, the artifact honors the workers whose labor helped establish Wisconsin's early economy and identity.
Representing grit, determination, hard work, and legacy, this piece serves as a reminder that strong foundations are often built through sacrifice and perseverance.
