The History of the Wisconsin Heritage Collection

Preserving Wisconsin's Story One Chapter at a Time

Every place has a story.

Every community has a history.

Every generation leaves behind a legacy.

The Wisconsin Heritage Collection was created to celebrate the people, industries, traditions, communities, and values that helped shape the state of Wisconsin.

For more than 45 years, Wisconsin has been home to our family. It is where memories were made, lessons were learned, communities were built, and the foundation of what would eventually become Crave Designss first took root.

As the Wisconsin Heritage Collection began to grow, it became clear that the artwork was only one part of the story.

Behind every image is a piece of Wisconsin history.

Behind every tradition is a community.

Behind every industry is a generation of people whose hard work helped build the state we know today.

This page exists to preserve and share those stories.

Why We Created The Wisconsin Heritage Collection

The purpose of the Wisconsin Heritage Collection is not simply to create artwork inspired by Wisconsin.

Its purpose is to celebrate, preserve, and share the rich history that makes Wisconsin unique.

From the lead miners who helped earn Wisconsin its Badger State nickname, to the lumbermen of the Northwoods, to the dairy farmers, cranberry growers, military heroes, community builders, and family traditions that continue to define the state today, every chapter contributes to Wisconsin's identity.

These stories deserve to be remembered.

These traditions deserve to be celebrated.

These communities deserve to be honored.

The Wisconsin Heritage Collection was created as a visual tribute to that legacy.

Wisconsin Heritage Collection — Chapter One

The first chapter of the Wisconsin Heritage Collection includes ten original heritage artifacts inspired by Wisconsin's history and culture:

WHC-001 — The Miner's Resolve

Honoring Wisconsin's lead mining heritage and the origins of the Badger State.

WHC-002 — The Sentinel of the Inland Sea

Celebrating Wisconsin's Great Lakes maritime legacy.

WHC-003 — The Lumberman's Legacy

A tribute to the Northwoods logging industry that helped build Wisconsin.

WHC-004 — The Dairy Heritage

Honoring the farms and families that helped make Wisconsin America's Dairyland.

WHC-005 — The Iron Brigade

Celebrating Wisconsin's military heritage and the legacy of service.

WHC-006 — The Homesteader's Promise

A tribute to the settlers and families who helped build Wisconsin's communities.

WHC-007 — The Spirit of Community

Honoring the volunteers, churches, organizations, and neighbors who strengthen Wisconsin's towns and cities.

WHC-008 — The Northwoods Guardian

Celebrating Wisconsin's forests, lakes, wildlife, and conservation heritage.

WHC-009 — The Supper Club Legacy

A tribute to one of Wisconsin's most beloved cultural traditions.

WHC-010 — The Cranberry Harvest

Honoring Wisconsin's agricultural heritage and the families behind the state's cranberry industry.

Together, these ten pieces form the foundation of the Wisconsin Heritage Collection and represent the beginning of a much larger story.

The Human Factor

History is more than dates.

History is people.

It is the stories passed down through families.

It is the traditions that bring communities together.

It is the memories connected to hometowns, farms, businesses, churches, schools, lakes, and neighborhoods.

As this project grows, we plan to expand beyond artwork and historical articles by inviting real people to share their Wisconsin stories.

Family stories. Community stories. Business stories. Military stories. Volunteer stories.

Stories that help preserve Wisconsin's living history for future generations.

Because the story of Wisconsin belongs to the people who call it home.

The Connection To Crave Designss

The Wisconsin Heritage Collection exists because Wisconsin helped shape who we are.

The values that guide Crave Designss today—community, stewardship, craftsmanship, education, and giving back—were influenced by the people and communities that make this state special.

As part of our mission, Crave Designss dedicates 25% of company profits to supporting local churches, food banks, community initiatives, and environmental causes.

We believe strong communities deserve strong support.

The Wisconsin Heritage Collection is one way we can celebrate the place that helped make our journey possible.

Looking Forward

The Wisconsin Heritage Collection is only the beginning.

Future chapters will continue exploring the people, traditions, industries, landmarks, communities, and stories that helped shape Wisconsin's past and continue influencing its future.

Our goal is simple:

Preserve history. Celebrate community. Share stories. Support future generations.

One chapter at a time.

Build carefully. Build intentionally.
