When God called Jonah to deliver His message to the city of Nineveh, the prophet chose to flee instead of obeying. Boarding a ship in the opposite direction, Jonah hoped to escape his calling, but a violent storm revealed that no one can outrun the plans of God.

Thrown into the sea to save the crew, Jonah was swallowed by a great fish where he spent three days and three nights in prayer and repentance. Inside the darkness, he discovered not punishment, but mercy. God preserved Jonah’s life and gave him a second chance to fulfill the mission he had been given.
